 The Story In
this musical slide show video, we pay tribute to our favorite Bruce
hero, Jurgen, and to his will to be free. The idea of a musical
tribute was partially inspired by one of our Forum members who told us
about a song by Santana and Everlast that reminded her of Jurgen.
We couldn't use a copyright-protected song but we found one that we
think works equally well.
As a Section operative, Jurgen's life is restricted. He and the other operatives must do what this mysterious anti-terrorist agency wants or they will be killed. But Section cannot crush the spirit of every operative. Jurgen and Nikita have managed to retain their souls. Jurgen has more freedom of action than the other operatives because he has a hold on Section --some damning information that would damage Section. So far Section has not been able to get access to it. But when Section finds a way to access the information--unwittingly through innocent Nikita--Jurgen is devastated. He now feels even more like a slave to Section. When a mission gone wrong requires a sacrifice, Jurgen makes a choice... The music that accompanys the slide is entitled "Oh Freedom" and is performed by Roger McGuinn, formerly of the legendary rock group The Byrds ("Mr Tambourine Man," "Turn, Turn, Turn," "Eight Miles High"). It is an old spiritual that perfectly reflects Jurgen's sentiments (see words below). We found it at ibiblio.org, a Open Source web site dedicated to archiving public domain music and other materials royalty-free. Mr. McGuinn has donated dozens of his performances to his page on ibiblio.org. Mr. McGuinn and Ibiblio are our heroes too, for fighting the music fascists who want to make us pay and pay and pay for every piece of music there is. Information you need: The slide show has 32 slides and is about 3.45 minutes long. The file is an 7½ mb exe. It takes approximately 10 minutes to download on a dial-up, 5 minutes on standard DSL, and less than a minute on cable or fast DSL. You either can run it or download it in many versions of Internet Explorer. Other browsers may or may not give you that choice. We have no control over that! Some security fire walls prevent the download of all exe files. If yours is one of them, you will have to temporarily disable your fire wall. Don't forget to re-enable it!
