Where are the messages coming from?  Dr. Murray's (Jeff Fahey) unconscious? Beyond the grave?   His (possibly) psychotic mind?  That's the first puzzle in this moody, mysterious film.  The second puzzle --who is the serial killer doing in all those women?  Is it Murray reacting to guilt over his wife's death?  Is it cold, withdrawn Dr. Golding (Bruce)?  Is it the strange woman?  Is it someone  else?  Who fits the profile of a serial killer?  If you know that, you can solve the second puzzle.

Bruce's character, Dr. Golding, is the chief medical examiner. So he gets to fiddle about with bloody
naked bodies...not much fun in spite of the "naked" part.   The forensic psychiatrist  is brought to doing some profiling, though in this film, her main purpose seems to be to fiddle about with Dr. Murray, an old friend.  Collins, the detective from LA  who is an expert on serial kiilers, is brought in to annoy us..or that's how it seems...

A suspenseful psychological thriller that stays more or less true to the principles of forensic psychology...well, except for the weird ending.  That's off in a whole other direction.
